How to Make Your Characters More Interesting with 3 Simple Design Choices

I feel like cute, boring characters have their place! But how do you go about giving your character some personality when you want to? Well, I think there are 3 simple ways to do it:

How to add more personality and story to your characters:

✔️ Pick a fun or cool hairstyle

✔️ Add an accessory

✔️ Add a subtle expression (subtle is really all you need!)

And it doesn't have to be a dramatic expression or anything earth-shattering. Even changing just ONE of these things will make your character feel more alive. But adding all three is a recipe for a very fun character!

Here are a few quick combos you can try:

• Space buns + tiny star tattoo + smirk

• Short hair + big bow + furrowed brows

• Curly hair + round glasses + sweet smile 

• Braid + florals + relaxed expression

• Pixie cut + chunky earrings + raised eyebrow
